The Positive Impacts newsletter — Birthday edition 2023

In this edition: CSRD made simple · Materiality Training · PI Value & Risk Framework · Publications · PI’s 3rd Anniversary

Our third birthday edition celebrates three years of impact measurement and strategy work at Positive Impacts — and introduces new ways to help organizations navigate CSRD and sustainability strategy with clarity.

CSRD Made Simple

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive creates complexity for many companies. We simplified it into clear, practical steps that help managers see where reporting ends and strategy begins.

  • Start with impact reality — not opinions about materiality.
  • Link sustainability to financial relevance through PI’s Value & Risk Framework.
  • Set strategic ambition levels that fit your risk profile and market position.

Materiality Training

We launched a hands-on training format that turns materiality from a compliance exercise into a strategic skill. Participants learn to map impacts and financial effects and to communicate them in plain language.

Next session: Spring 2023 · Hybrid · Limited seats available.

PI Wert & Risiko Rahmenwerk

Our framework links impacts to financial outcomes and decision-making. It helps translate real-world effects into monetary terms and risk signals for boards and investors.

The framework is now available for pilot projects and advisory engagements.

Recent Publications

  • “Double Materiality as Accounting Logic” — Journal for Sustainability Management.
  • Guest contribution on impact valuation in the BVMW magazine.
  • Panel discussion summary from Sustainability Days Berlin 2023.

Three Years of Positive Impacts

What started as a simple idea — to measure positive and negative impacts with the same logic as financial accounting — has grown into a comprehensive set of frameworks used by companies and investors across Europe.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and challenged us over these three years. We look forward to continuing the journey toward a truly make-good economy.
